The University of Fine Arts (Hochschule für bildende Künste) Hamburg is an artistic and scientific university. The movie theater enables students to present the films they have created in various formats.
All functions such as sources, formats, audio, lighting and curtains can be operated intuitively via two Crestron touch panels. The audio system is a 7.1 surround system with 3 front speakers, 6 side speakers, 2 rear speakers and 2 subwoofers. The picture comes from a Christie 4k cinema projector. There is also an analog 16 mm film projector, which makes it possible to show old films.
To ensure a perfect audio experience, the cinema room is completely acoustically clad. The side walls are each fitted with 6 approx. 5 meter long sld-custom LED strips with dimmer control, which can be steplessly controlled in the light color of warm white and cool white. In addition, high-quality spotlights are installed for illumination and color design: 2 spotlight systems each of profile spotlights, stepped lens spotlights and floodlights.
The media system is networked with other technical rooms in the building so that it is also possible to flexibly play content on the cinema projector from other rooms.
