Germany’s first surf park, O2 Surftown MUC, opened in summer 2024. “Surfing for everyone” is the motto here, with experienced coaches and perfect waves guaranteeing fun for every surfing level.
As the responsible planner and executing company, we not only took over the conception and technical planning, but also realized the complete installation and implementation. We installed the impressive LED wall directly above the water as well as displays, audio and lighting technology in and around the restaurant. We also set up the network to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
The Surftown project is characterized by an ultra-modern and innovative media and room control system. The combination of high-performance hardware, intelligent software and a well thought-out operating philosophy characterizes this project. Despite technical and planning challenges, we created a future-proof and flexible solution that is optimally tailored to the client’s needs.
A central element of this system is Pixilab Blocks, which controls the entire building technology across all systems. It enables complete implementation and seamless integration of audio, video, effect lighting and building control in a single platform. This results in maximum efficiency, intuitive operability and dynamic interaction between all components. The flexibility and scalability of Pixilab Blocks also enables future-proof expansions and adaptations to changing requirements.
The entire control system, including KNX and DALI, has been integrated into the central Pixilab Blocks system so that all functions can be conveniently controlled via tablets. Particularly noteworthy is the impressive 16.8 x 6 m LED wall, as well as the flexible audio technology with different zones, the effect lighting for the pool and building and the on-site floodlights, which are all managed via a single platform. In addition, a multifunctional stage was created to facilitate both press conferences and large events with professional lighting control. Thanks to the integrated stage box, concerts and other live events can also be staged.
Surftown Munich is therefore a prime example of modern media technology and intelligent building automation.
