In 2008, the fashion retailer C&A moved out of the building on Richard-Wagner-Straße in Bayreuth. The building stood empty until the Kochinvest Group acquired it in September 2015. The first and second floors were leased to the B&B Hotels hotel group, while the 2,000 m² ground floor space was divided up and leased to various retail stores. This was followed by a complete renovation designed for the building's new use. The hotel with approximately 90 guest rooms plus a granny flat and the retail stores (Brunner Bäcker, Mäc Geiz, Netto) now make the entire area attractive for visitors again and enhance the shopping street.
