Surftown Munich

In the summer of 2024, Germany's first surf park, O2 Surftown MUC, opened its doors. "Surfing for everyone" is the motto here, with experienced coaches and perfect waves guaranteeing fun for every surfing level.

As the responsible planner and executing company, we not only took on the design and technical planning, but also carried out the entire installation and implementation. We installed the impressive LED wall directly above the water as well as displays, audio, and lighting technology in and around the restaurant. In addition, we set up the network to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

The Surftown project is characterized by state-of-the-art and innovative media and room control. The combination of powerful hardware, intelligent software, and a well-thought-out operating philosophy sets this project apart. Despite technical and planning challenges, we created a future-proof and flexible solution that is optimally tailored to the customer's needs.

A central element of this system is Pixilab Blocks, which controls all building services across the entire system. It enables complete implementation and seamless integration of audio, video, effect lighting, and building control in a single platform. This results in maximum efficiency, intuitive usability, and dynamic interaction between all components. The flexibility and scalability of Pixilab Blocks also enables future-proof expansions and adaptations to changing requirements.

The entire control system, including KNX and DALI, was integrated into the central Pixilab Blocks system, allowing all functions to be conveniently controlled via tablets. Particularly noteworthy are the impressive 16.8 x 6 m LED wall, the flexible audio technology with different zones, the effect lighting for the pool and building, and the on-site floodlights, all of which are managed via a single platform. In addition, a multifunctional stage was created that can be used for both press conferences and large events with professional lighting control. Thanks to the integrated stage box, concerts and other live events can also be held.

Surftown Munich is thus a prime example of modern media technology and intelligent building automation.
