Hamburg University of Fine Arts

Media technology and custom-made products for a cinema auditorium.

The University of Fine Arts Hamburg is an artistic and scientific university. The cinema auditorium enables students to present their films in various formats.

All functions such as sources, formats, audio, lighting, and curtains can be operated intuitively via two Crestron touch panels. The audio system is a 7.1 surround sound system with three front speakers, six side speakers, two rear speakers, and two subwoofers. The image comes from a Christie 4K cinema projector. There is also an analog 16 mm film projector, which makes it possible to show old films.

To ensure a perfect audio experience, the cinema room is completely acoustically lined. Six approx. 5-meter-long sld-custom LED strips with dimmer control are installed in each side wall, allowing for continuous adjustment of the light color from warm white to cool white. In addition, high-quality spotlights are installed for illumination and color design: two spotlight systems each, including profile spotlights, step lens spotlights, and floodlights.

The media system is networked with other technical rooms in the building, making it possible to flexibly play content on the cinema projector from other rooms.
